'Aspiring Minds' winners announced!

'Aspiring Minds'; sponsored by the Coastal Communities Alliance and delivered by Fens Forward, part of the By Design Group, is pleased to announce the winners for 2009.  A team of four students from Tennyson High School in Mablethorpe have seen off competition from 36 other teams across three schools to win the Aspiring Minds Competition by developing an 'i-Ball'.

The 'i-Ball' is an interactive training ball with a built in MP3 Player that is attached to a retractable strap so that it can be used in confined spaces.

The programme required students in year 9 to take part in an Enterprise Day and develop a new Enterprise before completing an on-line business plan and pitching their idea to a panel of judges.  The aim was to raise aspirations, build key and personal skills and develop links with local businesses to increase awareness of career opportunities.
