Project: Rowed to Health

Background

The Amateur Rowing Association (ARA) is the governing body for the sport of rowing in England.

They wanted a company who could help them promote dry land rowing and raise awareness of healthy living. They also wanted to be able to collect anonymous data which could be used to track trends in physical activity to help the promotion of the sport.

They chose Consult by Design to project manage and deliver a pilot health and physical activity initiative.

Action

Consult by Design delivered a hugely entertaining and successful project where participants took part in a range of physical activity tests which were measured to help track trends in physical activity.

The initiative has been delivered in conjunction with Sportsgate (Consult by Design's technology partner) and Concept 2 (Indoor Rowing). It has been supported by AXA PPP Healthcare.

The project is backed up by a comprehensive website which allows participants to view their results and gives them advice on healthy living.

Result

Consult by Design successfully created an exciting and successful pilot project reaching over 4,000 members of the public, raising the profile of dry land rowing and encouraging people to think about living more healthily.
