Learn by Design support the Dame Kelly Holmes Legacy Trust
During the October half term Learn by Design were asked to support a two day 'BT Backing Talent' camp. Held at the Wright Robinson Sports College, Manchester, on Tuesday 27th and Wednesday 28th October 2009, the camp was backed by the Dame Kelly Holmes Legacy Trust.
We were asked to provide some informal practical health testing activities for 100 young Olympic hopefuls to try out in between their formal sessions over the two days of the camp.
The various activities proved extremely popular with the BATAK boards, as ever, proving to be the star attraction and leading to intense competition to achieve the highest score. Our Concept 2 rowers were also popular, particularly the 'Venue Racing' package which links four rowers together and allows participants to view their race and their competitors on large screen displayed at the front. At one point four of the team GB rowers who were mentoring on the camp were persuaded to have a race, which provided another spectacular highlight, as can be seen below.

A discussion between our team and the organizers of the camp resulted in the Learn by Design staff delivering a formal session on training programmes relating to health and diet, which was well received by the young athletes.
Before the end of the camp our team took the opportunity of having their photo taken with Dame Kelly Holmes who had been in attendance.
