On the Menu at Fenscape
Recipes from a bygone age are being explored by food historian Lynda Hotchkiss!
At Fenscape this week Lynda Hotchkiss will be delivering a talk about food from the past; how it was prepared, cooked, served and how it influenced people's lives. She will be focusing on the changes that have occurred over various eras and provide culinary advice with original recipes for you to try.
The evening event is FREE to attend and will be held in the Bellamy Room at Fenscape on Thursday 3rd December at 7.00pm.
Also on the Horti'Cultural' Festival menu is Springfields Head Gardener, Andy Boyton.
He will explain how the Springfields Gardens were created; their design and the care involved maintaining them. His talk will take place on Tuesday 8th December at 1.00pm in a marquee in the Gardens, and again, this event is FREE to attend.
"It will be a great opportunity to understand and see how a garden is run and organised throughout the growing year" says Andy Boyton.
The events are part of an six month long Horti'Cultural' Festival, which has been funded by the department of Business Innovation and Skills through their Learning Revolution -Transformation Fund, has received £10k which will enable Fens Forward at Fenscape – The Fens Discovery Centre and Springfields Horticultural Society, to put on eighteen themed events including demonstrations, talks and hands on activities.
