'Rowed To Fitness Lincolnshire' was a success
Between February and May 2008 our team was busy collecting and collating data from Year 7 pupils in over 60 Lincolnshire Secondary Schools on behalf of Lincolnshire Teaching Primary Care Trust. The data provided statistical information for the Primary Care Trust including exercise patterns (both in and out of school time) and height and weight data.
We took the By Design approach to this collection of data, to ensure we got the results but to make it different and exciting for the pupils involved. Therefore they were exposed to rowing ergometers, set up as a race venue to enable them to challenge their friends, and a BATAK board to record their reaction times. This variety of interactive equipment was a success with the children queuing up for additional attempts!
Fitness testing made fun!
